Record dividers are flat wooden boards — usually cut or engraved with A–Z lettering — that slot between vinyl albums on a shelf to separate sections alphabetically. Ours are designed to keep your collection organised and easy to browse, with A–Z as standard and custom options for genres, decades or band names available on request. Most of our record dividers are primarily designed for 12-inch vinyl records (LPs), which are the most common size. But we also produce dividers designed for 7″ singles and Compact Discs.
Our vinyl record dividers are made from furniture-grade birch plywood, 3–4 mm thick. Birch gives them a clean Scandinavian finish and the strength to last a lifetime of shelf use.
Mostly A-Z, but we can produce custom dividers for personal customer orders. These might include genre, band names, styles, etc.
Honestly, there’s very little difference. It all comes down to personal preference. Wooden ones are (probably) more environmentally friendly, and some plastics (PVC) can be toxic once cut by a laser. But, if you like the look of Acrylic (which is safe) then go for it! its safe and looks great!
No. Every letter is either laser-engraved or cut straight through the wood, so the lettering is 100% permanent and will not fade, rub or peel.
Most collectors are well served by the 13-piece set (every other letter of the alphabet). Use the 6-piece set for smaller collections, the 13-piece for typical home collections, and the 26-piece full A–Z for large collections

Yes. We regularly produce custom dividers for independent record shops and private collectors, including branded dividers with shop logos, genre tags and bespoke category names. Contact us with your brief, and we’ll quote a bespoke run.
Another awesome product that we sell is Record Backstoppers – these are designed to sit behind your record collection (out of sight) and offer a nice (large) buffer that your records can align themselves to. Yes — our vinyl record dividers are sized to fit Ikea Kallax, Expedit and other 33 cm (13-inch) cube shelving units. Each divider is approximately 35.5 cm × 7.9 cm, so it sits flush with a standard 12-inch LP inside a Kallax cube.
Each vinyl record divider measures approximately 35.5 cm × 7.9 cm (14″ × 3″) and is 3–4 mm thick. This sizing is designed to stand slightly proud of a 12-inch LP sleeve so the engraved letter is visible above the record spines.
Yes. Every divider is designed, cut and engraved in our UK workshop in Norwich using furniture-grade birch plywood. Orders ship from the UK, usually within 1–3 working days.
As a rough rule, a 6-piece set suits collections up to ~ 20-40 LPs a 13-piece set suits 30-100 LPs, and a full 26-piece A–Z set suits 100+ LPs.
Some of our ranges (including the Double Sided Engraved set) have letters engraved on both ends, so the divider can be read from the left or the right of the shelf. This is ideal for Kallax-style open cubes that are viewed from multiple angles.
Yes. Every set arrives fully finished — no glue, no screws, no assembly. Simply slot them into your shelf between the relevant records.
Yes. As well as 6-, 13- and 26-piece sets we make custom subsets — useful if your collection is heavy on a single genre or decade, or if you only need specific letters. Contact us with the letters or labels you want, and we’ll quote for a custom run.
Yes — we dispatch from the UK and ship worldwide, including the EU, US, Canada and Australia. Delivery times and costs are calculated at checkout based on the destination.
UK orders typically arrive within 2–5 working days after dispatch. International delivery varies by destination but is usually 5–14 working days.

Standard (non-personalised) record divider sets can be returned within 14 days of delivery if unused and in their original packaging. Custom-engraved dividers (logos, bespoke letters or names) are made to order and are non-returnable unless faulty.
Yes — “record dividers”, “LP dividers”, “album separators”, “vinyl dividers” and “alphabet dividers” all describe the same product: flat panels placed between albums to split a collection into sections. Our range covers all of these use cases.
Our standard sets are sized for vinyl and CDs, but custom dividers can be cut to size for cassettes, 8-tracks, graphic novels or any shelf-based collection. Send us the media dimensions and we’ll make a bespoke set.
